Behavioral Change for a more sustainable mindset in: Fast Fashion

Ecocycle is an analog card game created in less than 48 hours during the 2024 Games Changer Hackathon with the theme Circular Fashion. Since then, it has continued development under a capstone project to bring greater impact to Serious Game Design ideas and the industry.

This digital rendition of Ecocycle is a work in development that aims to improve the original game mechanics and demonstrate that serious games CAN be adapted to the market with a few adjustments while preserving their original message.


How to Play

The goal of the game is to reach 20 sustainability points. There are three players: Government, Consumer, and Company.

Throughout each round, all players are expected to communicate strategies for which cards to choose.

  1. For every round, players are presented with 5 possible actions that the Company can take. 
  2. Governments can enact a law that bans one action
  3. Consumers can decrease customer demand for another action
  4. Companies have a choice between three actions to take that turn
  5. Once a choice is made, sustainability points, money, and reputation points are allocated accordingly.
  6. Occasionally, there are Impact cards that decrease sustainability points, thus make sure you have enough to survive each round!

Currently, there's only enough content for 3 rounds. This is to test the initial communication mechanic and points of improvement
